About me

Hello! I’m Hetty

I am a Gardener and Garden Designer passionate about creating beautiful, meaningful and sustainable spaces.

Alongside my day to day work – I write Still Growing – a newsletter that shares the quiet, ongoing lessons my garden is teaching me — about patience, care, and the slow work of becoming.

After working alongside people like Scott Melville, Sarah Eberle and now Butter Wakefield, I’ve come to see gardening not just as a skill, but as a way of understanding life. I’ve learnt a lot — and I’m still learning.

I write ‘Still Growing’ for anyone who finds meaning in tending to things that grow slowly — whether that’s a garden, a life, or something in between. Through gentle stories and reflections from my own patch of earth, I hope to offer a moment of stillness, and perhaps a small reminder that you’re not growing alone.

Gardening & Garden Design Services

Whether you’re dreaming of a peaceful retreat, a pollinator-friendly haven or a beautiful outdoor space to share with friends and family, I can help bring your garden to life.

As a Gardener, I offer thoughtful, hands-on gardening for people who want to nurture their gardens rather than simply keep them under control. I mostly use hand tools, working quietly and attentively to notice what each plant needs and how your garden is changing with the seasons.

As a Garden Designer, I offer bespoke garden design services tailored to your space, lifestyle and budget — from planting plans and layout ideas to moodboards and seasonal inspiration.

Every garden is unique, and I take a collaborative, down-to-earth approach to help you make the most of yours.

If you’re interested in working together, I’d love to hear from you.
